The GAA has always been at the heart of Irish life. In a unique partnership, DCU will join with the GAA to develop Gaelic games at national level by establishing the GAA Education and Research Institute.
The Institute will serve as a hub for research, innovation and education in areas such as player well-being, performance analysis, coaching techniques, refereeing, sports medicine and the science of success.
The Institute will build on academic and research expertise at DCU to focus on areas of strategic importance to the GAA from trialling Smart Stadium technologies to improve the Croke Park experience for players, staff, the public, local residents and businesses to investigating sliotar properties and the impact of urbanisation.
