Our world is changing at an unprecedented pace, and we face major challenges that range from climate change to inequality. To take on these big issues facing humanity, we believe our world needs more Changemakers. A Changemaker is someone who has the skills and confidence to lead change in their home, school and community.
The DCU Changemaker Schools Network is based on one very simple yet powerful idea: that all children can be Changemakers. Across Ireland, its 19 members work to equip over 5,000 students in their schools with the essential skills of empathy, creativity, leadership and teamwork so they are ready to thrive in the modern world and to address societal challenges.
Although all schools are places where tomorrow’s leaders are supported to grow and develop, these schools have been identified as exceptionally vibrant hubs of social and educational innovation. Through the DCU Changemaker Schools Network, these schools support each other and encourage others to take the next steps in creating a new generation of empathetic and empowered leaders, ready to take on the greatest challenges facing their communities and society.
The DCU Changemaker Schools Network is currently seeking visionary partners to support its ambitious goal to expand to reach 50 schools by 2025, to grow the resources and supports it offers members, and to increase its influence and impact on the wider education system.
“I think that by having more Changemakers in this world we can stop bullying, starvation, homelessness and many more problems. That is my opinion, but maybe you have a different one.”
