Supporting Next Generation Talent - Linesight and DCU Access to the Workplace

Anne Rush is Chief People Officer at Linesight, the global construction consultancy firm. In this piece, she describes how DCU Access to the Workplace is furthering their strategy for diversity, equity and inclusion.
What first inspired Linesight to support the DCU Access Programme?

Linesight is committed to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion and, as a Dublin-founded company, it makes sense to support this within our local community. I’d also had experience of working with the programme at a previous role, and know the calibre of the students and the support that the programme provides for the next generation of talent and leaders.

DCU Access to the Workplace aims to create a level playing field for student groups who we know experience disadvantage on entering the workplace. How does this further your own values as a company?

Linesight has a history of partnering with groups in the community to provide a fairer playing field for all. DCU Access to the Workplace links well with our goal of equity and inclusiveness, as part of our DE&I strategy and our overall culture. We want employees with the right aptitude and attitude, and recognise that they come from many sources.

How has Linesight benefitted from taking part in Access to the Workplace?

Our students who came in via the Access Programme have been key members of our team, have integrated really well and provided valuable skills and support at a critical time.

Why would you recommend that other companies participate in the programme?

The calibre of the students coming through this programme is very high. The students are open to learning, keen to contribute and a breath of fresh air in the team.
