Fidelity Investments Ireland and Dublin City University Launch 2025 Scholarship Aimed at Supporting Women in STEM

Applications open for the 2025 Fidelity Investments Women in STEM Student Scholarship.

A collaboration between financial services leader Fidelity Investments Ireland and Dublin City University is providing a programme of scholarships to address the persistent underrepresentation of women in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, both in the workplace and in university.

Scholarship applications are now open for the 2025 Fidelity Investments Women in STEM Student Scholarship for women in second and third year pursuing the undergraduate BSc in Computer Science, Computing for Business or Data Science at DCU. Eligible students have been contacted by the Faculty of Engineering and Computing.

Through DCU Educational Trust, Fidelity Ireland also supports the DCU Access Programme, DCU Sport Scholarships, and a suite of initiatives to promote STEM courses and careers at DCU’s Faculty of Engineering and Computing. These include the ComputeTY outreach initiative that teaches Transition Year students how to programme, student mentoring and career visioning sessions, Engineers Week events and a Women in STEM prize for final-year students.

Professor Suzanne Little in DCU School of Computing said;

“We are delighted to continue our longstanding relationship with Fidelity Investments Ireland. The support they are providing to improve awareness of and access to undergraduate computing degrees is both inspiring and practical.”

Commenting on the scholarship, Margaret O’Halloran, Vice President, Technology Management at Fidelity Investments Ireland, said;

“Fidelity Investments Ireland is actively working to increase participation in STEM through various initiatives that promote inclusion in STEM education and careers. We are proud to collaborate with DCU on a number of initiatives that support pathways into STEM, and are thrilled to once again award our Women in STEM Scholarship — part of our broader efforts to address gender representation imbalances in the field.”
