The work of the DCU Educational Trust is guided by its trustee board of directors who give their time and expertise to guide the work of the organisation.
Prof Dáire Keogh began a ten-year term as President of DCU in July 2020. Professor Keogh, a Dubliner, is a distinguished historian who served as President of St Patrick’s College Drumcondra, and as Deputy President of DCU since its Incorporation (2016). He has published extensively, on the history of popular politics, religion and education in Ireland.
Deirdre is a former Group Chief Risk Officer of AIB and Chair of DCU Educational Trust. Deirdre previously held a leadership role in the National Treasury Management Agency where she was Chief Risk Officer.
Raymond Reilly graduated from DCU in 1988 with a BA in accounting & Finance (Hons). Following that he qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Pricewaterhouse Coopers and is now a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
After completing a Masters in International Relations at DCU, Lorraine Corcoran established the company Afanite, which helps non-profit organisations to become more commercially oriented and helps for-profit companies to achieve their social goals. Lorraine chairs the Credit Union Advisory Committee, advising the Minister for Finance on the sector, and was a 2023 awardee of the Euclid EU Top 100 Women in Social Enterprise.
Eavan heads the Ireland office of Sodali & Co, one of Dublin and London’s leading strategic communications agencies. With almost 30 years of experience in strategic corporate and investment advisory functions, she works closely with Ireland’s best-known and largest organisations to enhance and protect their brand and reputation.
Margo brings over 30 years’ experience in senior finance positions within the telecommunications, venture capital, hospitality and agricultural sectors. She currently provides consultancy services to listed and private companies on corporate governance and environmental, social and governance reporting. Margo holds a BA in Accounting and Finance from DCU and is a fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland.
John is Executive Director and CFO of AIB life, with a strong record of business leadership in the financial services sector. Before joining AIB, John held leadership roles in Canada Life International Assurance, AXA Travel Insurance and Ulster Bank. A chartered accountant with over 25 years’ experience, John has also served as chair and committee member with a number of charities and NGOs.
In August 2012 Declan Raftery was appointed the University’s first Chief Operations Officer and is responsible for operations, including Estates, IT Services, Health and Safety, Emergency Planning, Risk and Compliance, Legal Matters, DCU Alpha, Sustainability and The Centre for Talented Youth in Ireland (CTYI) across three University academic campuses and the facilities that supports its students and staff.
