Launched by Hilary Clinton in 2012, DCU’s Institute for International Conflict Resolution and Reconstruction has played an active and widely respected role in supporting the Northern Ireland peace process and in bringing the lessons from the Irish peace process to other regions in conflict, working with DCU’s leading experts on these regions to ensure that our work is locally rooted.
Peace in Northern Ireland remains fragile and IICRR works with evidence based analysis to support policy-makers and local communities to address ongoing tensions and to help construct a sustainable post conflict economy and society. IICRR also documents the learning from Northern Ireland in an internationally accessible manner and brings that experience to help those involved in peace building and post-conflict reconstruction in other conflict zones.
