Inaugural daa Aviation Scholarship Recipient Announced at DCU

DCU Business School and the daa have awarded the daa Aviation Scholarship to its first recipient, Chloe Smith.

A new bursary established by DCU Business School and the daa has been awarded to Aviation Management student Chloe Smith at a special event in DCU Business School. Awarded for the first time on Thursday, 5th November 2025, this bursary celebrates the highest achieving student in third-year Aviation Management.

At the event, which was attended by DCU Aviation Management students and selected guests, Gary McLean, Managing Director at Dublin Airport shared his insights on leadership and the aviation industry.

Speaking about the scholarship and daa’s partnership with DCU, Gary McLean said:

“Dublin Airport has a long and proud history of working with DCU. Each year, we support 40 local students to attend third level education via DCU’s Access Programme. This new bursary for the BSc in Aviation Management is our latest educational initiative to invest in our local communities and foster the talents of students to fulfil their true potential.”

 

Scholarship recipient Chloe Smith described the event as a very proud moment:

“I’d like to say a huge thank you to the daa for my scholarship. When I heard I was receiving it, I thought, right I’m going to push myself and prove that the work I put in was worth it.”
